Bravo Domlec - Way To Go

Congratulations are again in order for the team members of Domlec’s Sports Club Softball Team. The team had back to back victories on the weekend and has strengthened their position in points standing in the Dominica Softball Development Cricket League.

The team’s first of two victories was based on a good bowling performance followed by a splendid batting performance on Saturday 19th April at the Lindo Park where they defeated Club Scotia Bank by 9 wickets.

Batting first Scotia Bank amassed 100 runs in 18.1 overs with Connie Lugay getting 52 of these runs. Bowling for Domlec Vivian Jno Baptiste took 3 wickets for 18 runs and Brandon Henry 2 for 33; Andy Mathew, Alexander St. Luce, Delroy George and Keith Cuffy each had a wicket. In their turn at the crease Messer’s Andy Mathew and Kimmon Joseph bludgeoned their way to the total in 8 overs. Kimmon scored 44 while Andy made 32.

The team travelled to the Kalinago land the following day Sunday 20th to challenge the Sineku Youth Stars and had another splendid performance with both bat and ball.

Sent in to bat on a bowler friendly wicket Team Domlec amassed 111 runs in 19.4 overs. Kimmon Joseph was the chief scorer with 29 runs followed by Delroy George with 26 and Keith Cuffy who contributed 14 runs. Faced by immense fire power and excellent fielding skills the Kalinago lads were never given a chance to settle into their innings and were routed for 81 runs in 10.3 overs. Doing the damage for Domlec was: Alexander St. Luce who took 5 wickets for 16 runs, Vivian Jno. Baptiste 3 wickets for 7 runs and Andy Mathew 2 wickets for 27 runs.

Congratulations each team member on such encouraging and handsome wins. Special mention must be made of the support given to the team by Mr. Larry Severin and others for providing all the logistics and for rallying support over the weekend. The team has 3 wins from 4 games thus far and will be in pursuit of another win this weekend at Lindo Park and therefore continues to solicit support from other co-employees.
